Round and Round

Monday, December 17th, 2007

Today was Denver Roller Dolls 2nd annual birthday party at Wagon Wheel in Brighton. It was for derby girls, their family and friends to celebrate all the hard work put forth in making the league what it is to date. It was a potluck style gathering, everyone was asked to bring some type of dish, ie.) an appetizer/snack or a dessert and your own beverages. Chad and I had a great time cooking all morning. We made two different types of party pinwheels, the infamous salami, cream cheese rolls- thank you mom for teaching me these-everyone loves them! And last but not least we made lemmony snickets- these were dangerously good! In the midst of all the cooking, miss Stella being picked up by her mom, getting us ready, the baby dressed, time flew by and we were running late! Out the door we dashed! As soon as we get in the car Arlin needs to eat. So our genius idea- we’ll feed him on the way. Just another branch of my multi-tasking today. However, it was probably not such a great idea to feed the baby a bottle while strapped in his car seat in the back of the bumpy Tahoe truck.-Yeah- as soon as we got there, all the girls wanted to check out the baby…right as I picked him up out of his car seat to show him off, he practically projectile spit up all over his cute little outfit and me! Yeah- we won’t be doing any car feedings in the near future.
Chad and I took turns pushing Arlin around the rink in his stroller. At first he didn’t know what to think. His eyes got real big, checking out all the lights…and soon he was fast asleep! We had a lot of fun on this Sunday!

Mommy and I went shopping again today for Christmas stuff…I lost my mitten, well, Mommy lost my mitten. But thanks to Betty and my blanket I was still warm.

For grandma…

Good morning Paddington Bear! These pictures are especially for grandma!…I was hoping to get some good shots of Arlin for our X-mas cards, but I couldn’t get him to dig the camera-he knew what was up and he didn’t really feel like hamin’ it up today. Maybe tomorrow.

I just read an email from “Pamaw” informing me that this very Paddington Bear was made for me by her for my first Christmas. Wow, my Paddington Bear is 30 years old, and still in one piece. But even more strange, I picked it up this morning out of Arlin’s stuffed friends to try and get a Christmas photo with it- his first Christmas…kinda ironic…and really cool.

October, November, December…I’m 2 months old today! Mommy had to take me to the doctors this afternoon for my 2 mo. check up.
I tipped the scales at 13 1/2 lbs! And I’m 23 3/4″ long but the biggest measurement of all was my noggin at
15 3/4″…which means I’m going to smart just like my daddy! Doc. says my progress puts me in the 90th percentile…WooHoo!

..All bundled up ready to go watch some roller derby! The Larsen family went to the Bladium Gym in Stapleton to watch the Rocky Mountain Roller Girls vs. New York Gotham Roller Girls. I pretty much slept the whole time, papa carried me in the Baby Bjorn carrier, glad they taped up my ears- cause geez it was loud!
