These pictures are from this last Wednesday, we joined everyone at the old historic Castle Marne to celebrate Sofia’s 2nd Birthday (Arlin Jack’s youngest cousin). It was interesting and a challenge to get a picture of the kiddies all together…One was always looking away while the other was smiling ready to go.

Harvard Gulch Park…

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

Chad and I took the Captain over to Harvard Gulch Park Sunday to blow off some energy… hoping it would tucker him out enough to get a good afternoon nap in so Mama could hit the Thanksgiving sale at Macy’s. And sure enough it worked like magic!

Chad and I were laughing, Arlin’s “Silly Bear” Pooh hat looks like a vintage football helmet…(not gonna be picking up the ladies wearing this number!) Arlin fits right in at the park, with NO fear he takes off down any size slide head first on his back or on his tummy. In the picture above, I was afraid to let him go- but he couldn’t be bothered with Mama’s help.

However, being Captain cool on the slides in front of the 14 month old twin girls he still has yet to figure out eating the bark at the park is for babies- Big boys don’t eat bark!

Stick em’ up!

Having a little fun with the Captain last night…

St. Jude stickers galore.

They were stuck all over his little fingers. He stormed around the kitchen for 15 minutes swatting his arms in the air trying to get them all off, then he gave up and plopped down on the floor and tried eating them off, occassionally stuffing his hand in Otis’ mouth for help!

ahaha…being silly with Arlin is fun.

Hawkins…

Little man on a mission…
chasing after “Hawkins” the sheepdog.

We made it to the park yesterday…It was nice to let Arlin burn some of that energy allowing a peaceful afternoon nap. Boy how Mama loves nap time! It’s when everything magically gets accomplished.
I have to pick up more safety latch locks, before I lose my mind. It’s a constant battle with emptying the contents out of the kitchen island. I’ll be washing the dishes and before you know it Arlin is dragging around a huge fry pan chasing after the dog. He loves to mess with Otis, always stealing his bones!
Papa came home late last night…Arlin was tickled pink to have breakfast with him this morning.

Housebound…

Inspector Inquisitive…

Arlin Jack LOVES the vacuum! Everytime I get it out he has to inspect it up and down. You can hear the wheels turning round and round…like a little mad scientist. It keeps him entertained so I don’t mind. Seems as if everyday household items are far more fun for him to play with than the store bought toys.

Looks like we’re home bound today. Maybe a walk over to the park after our morning nap.

Overdue…

Sorry folks for the delay in posting. Chad loaned our camera to Kozy to photograph all the Denver Roller Doll merchandise for online shopping on the website. But I figured out how to upload pictures from my i-phone! woo hoo…proud of myself- I even did it without Chad.
These pictures are of the Captain at the middle school on Washington St. just round the corner from us, I thought it be cool for Arlin to check the planets out…they’re all about his height, I think he thought the bark and sticks were cooler…all boy!

My guy…

Monday, November 10th, 2008

Had a little photo shoot here…in the backyard before I raked up all the leaves, again. (man, I can’t keep up with them) My guy, he is seriously the coolest cat around. I was feeling down the other day- it’s like Arlin knew I wasn’t myself…he kept giving me hugs and touching my face…melts my heart everyday.

Little Bearpaw calling Pamaw

These slippers are hysterical! I love them… Arlin cruises around the house quite well in them too. I snapped these pictures the other night while cooking dinner. I’ve been trying to baby proof certain areas of the house a little more so I can allow little man to get his cruise on, cause he really isn’t having any part of of his playpen lately…haha…Papa calls it the “baby cage”

Day at the Denver Museum…

Friday, November 7th, 2008

These pictures are the day after Halloween. We took Arlin and Stella to the Denver Art Museum to check out the current art exhibits. We were only able to muster our way through for about an hour and half…with Arlin Jack teething (cutting his back molars) and a forgotten pacifier…we weren’t able to stay as long as we all would have liked.

It was funny to see Stella look at the dates that the paintings were created…

“Mama, LOOK! 1934!!!”

I went on a hunt to find something even older, so she could correlate the year our house was built (1880) with a piece of art in the Denver Museum. Although I couldn’t find something that old I got closer than 1934. Stella reminded me of myself in my younger years, really museums can be quite boring when your parents drag you around and look at old art… sometimes none of it makes sense- but you do incidentally take “something” away from the experience. I used to look at the dates the paintings were created too when I was eight and I’d daydream while walking around about what life must have been back then, did they have television, cars, telephones etc…Oh, to be eight years old again!

Trick or Treat smell my feet!

Stella at the haunted house few houses down…these potion bottles were glowing in the dark!
Trying to see out of his costume?!
The Gang!
Arlin trying to pull off Stella’s helmet- pesty little brother- always!
The tricker treater trio!
Cutest Monkey in town…Palmer Sioux!
Bad to the bone Punk-ette!! Number #86
hanging at the house before we left letting the madness begin!
Arlin’s dinosaur shoes were a finishing touch to the adorable costume. I couldn’t believe he was able to cruise around in them!

Stella got here Thursday evening Chad picked her up at the airport on his way home from Seattle (her Mom was actually flying out the same night to New Mexico)

Stella’s wish was to be a dead Denver Roller Doll derby girl. I told her we’d get to Target early Friday and see what we could do- but my one request…was she not be a “dead” roller derby girl!!!

We luckily found an army girl costume that I thought I could modify in the short amount of time I had, so we bought it. It came with the dress and and pair of army knee high vinyl boots you wear over your real shoes…I cut the knee high boot part off and we painted wheels on the sides, cut holes for some bright neon skate laces…they were her “sudo” roller skates! I painted her own Punk-ette # 86 name patch for the back of her dress, pinned on my Green Barrette patch from Master Sarge on the chest along with my derby love patch and let her pick which of my derby knee high socks she wanted to wear. The finishing touches were adding some stickers to her helmet that we bought, and I painted her number on it too, I even let her wear my dog tags that my team gave me at the Season Championship bout…she LOVED this outfit and wanted to wear it all day to the Denver Museum on Saturday!

Right before we left the house to go trick or treating…Stella accidentally rubbed her right eye…smearing all the make up I put on her, she started to get upset about it tell till Abby, Anna Maria and I all told her it was actually perfectly awesome- she now was an “official” roller derby girl with a black eye! She got a big kick out of the mishap and we were off for loads of candy!

And indeed she got loads of CANDY!…Stella ate so much candy she got seriously sick Saturday evening. At about 4pm after coming home from the park she started complaining her stomach hurt real bad. At dinner about an hour later she blew chips everywhere in the kitchen! Ugh…it was bad. Real bad. I knew it wasn’t from anything she had eaten- cause I had shared my food with her for the past two days, and I was fine. I found her candy bag pretty depleted in the closet, and quite a few scattered candy wrappers around her room and under the bed…It was a fun trip to Urgent Care at midnight… slap on the hand from Papa for not fessing up to how much candy she sneaked…and a hard learned lesson- You CAN eat too much candy! Oh, how we’ve all been there. Sunday she laid around all day watching movies, I think she paid the piper this Halloween…poor Stel.
