Master Sarge says Hooo-AH!
He gets a little distracted when it comes to legos…and the minute the camera goes off you better believe I got the best happy birthday song ever, that’s just the way it goes…
Captain Jack’s new bomber jacket (from Master Sarge) came in the mail last week and I’ve been negligent to take pictures. Little side tracked I suppose.
But this jacket is SO cool! Master Sarge you picked a winner, and it’s plenty big enough for next winter….
Photo shoots aren’t as easy as they used to be. I remember the days I’d dress my guy up like a doll and perch him all over the house and take hundreds of pictures…Now, I’m baiting him with cookies (cornbread)
“Arlin, please…just humor Mama for a minute and stand up straight…”
He’s definitely learning he has leverage if Mama’s not on her A game!
first shot…grrreat, this is gonna go well.
“No cookie then Arlin…”
“Ohhh.k”….he says…
“You take my picture?!”
“Cookie Mama?”
*note to self; cornbread + 2 yr. old boy= a mighty crumbly mess!
P.S. Mom- the Knex blocks arrived yesterday via UPS…today were building Mt. Rainer…’cause lord only knows we now have enough blocks to build fort knox for a small army! Thanks….he was SO excited when he accidentally set off the talking cowboy Elmo…pictures coming soon, promise. xo
Captain trouble…boy oh boy is a good thing this guy’s so darn cute!
We drove Mimi to the airport last Tuesday. Arlin and I both drove away with crocodile size tears. Arlin kept saying airplane…get on airplane…go Mimi…Mama, airplane…go with Mimi. I asked him if he wanted to go home with Mimi and he said “yes, mama, go with Mimi, pleeease, I get on dah airplane!” Saying goodbye stinks, I wish everyone we loved was right here in Seattle.
Seattle, and every surrounding neighborhood is simply amazing. This place is really beautiful with the blue water and green lush landscaping things are pretty colorful.
and your tour guide today folks, is Mr. Arlin Jack Larsen…step right up and get your tickets!
(at Gasworks park with Mimi and Uncle Roy…)
Arlin digs he’s Uncle Roy…(great uncle Roy actually :))
maybe one day we’ll be lucky enough to have our own boat, wouldn’t that be sweet?
king(s) of the hill.
I say over and over Arlin Jack has horns, and can be a little devil at times, but I need to brag of his growing vocab too! I swear it’s like he wakes up each morning with a handful of new words he didn’t say the day before. He formulates sentences and uses the proper words in context….it’s so COOL! I know every parent thinks their child is bright…but man I tell ya, this kids noggin’ size just might mean something!
I’m proud. Proud Mama, even when he’s horns are out…he’s my guy!
Mom…I’m sure you’ll get a chuckle out of this picture…(what was it Tony put in his boots? Peaches??!ahhaha)
Mmm hmmm, Yep, those are raspberries in his cowboy boots.
this is his “I didn’t do it Mama” face…I get it all the time lately.
another dress fitting…
I had to add more fabric onto the head piece…and blanket stitch the eyes, I switched em’ to a cream fleece looks better than the felt.
costume is finished! Pictures tomorrow!!
Mama’s sick so I’ll take my down time and try to rewind Arlin Jack’s fun for the past several weeks. May be jumbled (cause lord only knows my head feels that way!)
Arlin at my Mom’s house in AZ. I’d say emailing this picture to Papa might just have been the reason the Captain scored this RC car for his Birthday…
slight size difference, but you know how Papa is when he does any shopping for the Captain!
checking out Tombstone…looking for the horses and a pair of Cowboy boots.
and as you can see the Captain did just happen to score some Cowboy boots as an early Birthday gift from Pamaw! (along with some new Halloween skivvies)
Arlin made new friends. He really thought Ms. Jane and Mr. Bill were really neat. They even made him his own bucket with his name on it.
shoot, the Captain scored all kinds of toys from neighbors! Even this “Tow-Mater!” truck he rode everywhere…
we went on walks to collect pine cones off the golf course,
we went swimming in 90 degree sunshine weather…
we cuddled and watched cartoons…
we attempted blowing bubbles in Pamaw’s backyard, really we just made a mess.
we checked out a nearby park playground to blow off some energy…
we talked to Papa and Stella on video skype…this is Arlin kissing Stella…too damn cute.
we took the Captain to a local mall for a ride on the fire truck…
spoiled by Pamaw’s back rubs…he now lifts his shirt and says “tickle pee-ease?!”….
AND…boy genius decided to stick a pea up his nose at dinner the night before we were scheduled to fly home. I’m not kidding this pea would not dislodge. With my Mom and I holding him down…a turkey baster, tweezers, q-tips, baby nose suction thangy, you name it…after a failed attempt with an ER visit I was bound and determined my Mom and I had to get it out. We laid him down on the bathroom floor and poured saline solution in the nostril that had the pea stuck in it then we blew air up his open nostril while trying to cover up his mouth. All this fussing really mad Arlin mad and right when we thought we’d give up Arlin let out a wail of a cry and coughed shooting the pea right out onto my arm! We laughed… now that the pea was out it was really quite funny.
Pamaw says ice cream always makes boo-boos feel better…I think the Captain agrees 100%!
We were really sad to leave Arizona. It’s never easy leavin’ Pamaw and her gracious hospitality…or her hugs, back rubs…and yummy snacks! Arlin misses his Pamaw! And Oscar the blimp too!
pretty excited to dig into a bag full of hats…all made especially for him.
he’s trying to put one on me.
now one for Otis. (Mama stopped this nonsense)
running to Papa to show him all his new treasures
don’t wipe his nose during photo shoots…he doesn’t like it.
o.k. nose wiped….all better.
THANK YOU PAMAW!!!
Can’t wait to see you. xo Captain Jack
Can you say trouble?
Well, I’ve told you all about the “pee-pee parties” Arlin Jack was beginning to frequent right?! Couple days ago the parties advanced to “poo-poo parties” making Mama not so proud of her handsome little devil. I brainstormed for a bit…how was I going to remedy and put a stop to all this potty party madness???
ducktape?!
just kidding…Mama wouldn’t do that! But it sure did cross my mind while laundering the Captain’s bedding for what seemed to be the 90th time! And then it came to me, oh matey!
the “pirate panties!” hmmhmm, excuse me, I mean the pirate briefs.
Arlin Jack has mastered the pulling off his drawstring pajama pants like a champ, now only if he’d repeat this magic trick and potty train we’d be in business, but I suppose this is when Mama has to be patient. But the pirate briefs are just snug enough (but not too tight) over his diaper, that he can’t muster them off, allowing Mama to be rest assured she won’t impede on yet another potty disturbance. Thank you Pamaw for these little “Shiver me timber” numbers!
last Wednesday at a local Mexican restaurant near Sloans Lake the Captain got tangy with a lime. (I think he liked it!)
Thursday…the injured noggin’ after a spill out of a wheel barrel onto the asphalt on the playground at school..
lunchtime Friday…
he loves his food…
those cheeks love food!
All shake it photos…still obsessing with the i-phone application. We are beyond busy, and overly excited for Pamaws visit come Monday. We’re going to take her to school with us Tuesday morning and show her off!
