O’Sullivan brothers…

Sunday we went over to Nico’s new place to see the twins, and catch up…

IMG_3218

trying to keep the Captain from mischief  was nearly impossible at Uncle Nico’s new place, where the twins only being almost 7 months are not yet mobile…but soon they will be! Enzo is already doing the army crawl!

Enzo and Papa, Nico.

IMG_3236

Cassius, or Cash Money as his Papa calls him.

IMG_3232

Big boy Enzo. He was the smaller of the two at birth…not anymore!

Aren’t these guys handsome!?

And…Mr. Trouble. Arlin Jack took quite well to antagonizing Knuckles, the dog.

Wishing I had a picture of Salvador and Palmer Sioux to complete the circle of what will be “major mischief” in years to come.

School and tomatoes!

Arlin started his 1st day of Montessori yesterday. Summer session ended last week and he had a few days at home with Mama. Although we really enjoyed ourselves the first day or two, I think we started driving each other nuts. Arlin loves to go to school!

DSC02552

He takes pride in carrying his own bag in…Mama calls him her “Big Boy” when he stays on track and we actually get our bag into the right cubby without disturbing anyone else. ;)

That’s Ms. Cecily on the left, she’ll be taking over for Ms. Lindsay when she leaves to have her baby girl. And next, holding the basket…that’s Camille or Millie! Arlin has a new pal to play with, Faith and Tom’s (Abby’s good friends) little girl. Watching Millie yesterday morning reminded me of Arlin the first day, she was on overload…wanted to check it all out!

Mama made the Captain a personalized tote, the school asked for no backpacks…

I picked him up today from the school yard. I could see everyone but Arlin. I asked Cecily is Arlin out here…Yes he’s over on the playground slide, and as she went to point, he wasn’t there….but just to the right of the playground you could see his little tushie sticking up in the air…his head was buried in the tomato garden. Captain found the grape tomato bush, thorns don’t scare him! I plucked him out of the garden. He had a couple tomatoes squirreled away in his mouth and he had seeds smeared all over his tee-shirt. Who knows how many he ate. Boy was he mad at Mama for picking him up to go home.

We’ve had a real picnic potty training. But we’re committed.

But see, I’ve been feeding him tomatoes here at the house. Yah. I didn’t know there was a free-for-all buffet tomato bush in the school yard.

Let’s just say we got lots of potty practice in today.

children’s museum…

Tuesday, August 18th, 2009

Been busy and sidetracked from uploading these. We met Abby and Palmer at the Denver Childrens Museum last Friday, Arlin Jack was off school that day. Unfortunately I didn’t know the museum closed early on Friday’s…we only got to show Palmer bits and pieces of the museum coolness. I’m on a mission now to find my guest passes and take them again. The boys loved playing with the trains, oh and shooting the mini basketballs on the mini sized basketball court….that place is really cool and for Arlin it seems like he sees something new every time we go.

Too bad, I took a video of my monkey climbing this twisty thing but I shot it with my little camera and didn’t think I was holding long ways to capture the height of the shot, so I’ll spare you having to watch a video with your head turned sideways! He fell…of course I captured that too…and then you hear me panic and I toss the camera into the sand to save the Captain!

blues and brews…

Thursday, August 13th, 2009

I forgot I snapped these on my i-phone…we went to the blues and brews fair on S. Pearl Street last weekend with team Woefel.

IMG_0458

Arlin wore this purple ice cone after a couple minutes…literally a pool of purple syrup in his stroller. The next morning after I had forgotten about this incident my heart sank when I thought I saw a humungous bruise on the back of his thigh…but it was just stained from his icey cone.geez.

IMG_0459

Palmer Sioux cruisn’ his new param…btw the way Palmer…your camo hat is on the dining room table and every time the Captain walks by it he says….Pa-mer, hat….as he points to it. I say…”do you wanna play with Palmer?”

“Yah! Yah!” :)

I do believe it was love at first sight…

DSC02456

chew Arlin…chew…was all I could say while watching the feast.

We’re working on potty training. It’s a real treat to be Mama right now. Today he pee’d on my foot.

not funny…

o.k. laugh. We’re making progress…

I think.

whole lot a sand…

IMG_3139

first time in his new sandbox…Chad built it during nap time on Sunday while I gardened, we waited for Stella to get here to show him his new backyard toy.

IMG_3141

gotta love Craigslist Chad and I have wanted to get the Captain a sandbox for awhile now, it’s the first thing he goes for at any playground these days…but they’re pretty pricy. I posted a wanted AD and within a week a mom with buyers remorse and an open box unable to be returned… we were the lucky new owners of this sand haven.

IMG_3145

sand…wiches! Yep a mouthful of sand. yukky.

IMG_3154

the top cranks down keeps the leaves and bugs out…hopefully :)

IMG_3149

pure entertainment, he loves it.

BIG BOY!!!

DSC02317

I am SO proud right now and so is Papa …tonight Arlin Jack met a huge milestone.

He went “poo-poo” on the potty!!! Yep, he sure did.

I was helping him get undressed for bath time and he told me he had to go poo-poo. I took his diaper off and he walked right over to his potty and sat down…he started saying poo-poo over and over again, I surely thought we were just going through the motions like we do everyday and nothing happens… but today was the big day!

For anyone that doesn’t have kids, it’s o.k. you can say geez…thanks for sharing. But for those with kiddies, you know… this is huge! My guy’s only 22 months old…and we’re headed towards being potty trained! Wooo Hooo!!!

Chad and I were so excited we did a poo-poo dance (oh to be a fly on the wall in our house!) and we gave him a cookie, he looked at us like we were crazy but he liked the idea of getting a treat, I just hope he remembers tomorrow…

mesmerized watching a basketball game. Funny Chad says, “he might actually be able to play, unlike me!” hahaha…

yelling at the guys playing…

DSC02301

cruisin’ the slides, he can never make up his mind on which way to go down, head first on his belly or on his bum.

DSC02302

it was a wet slide…swear!

DSC02299

Ahhh, my guy.

DSC02305

chasing squirrels and catching pine cones….while Roaring like a dinosaur…”Rawr!”….yep that’s my guy.

I’m leaving for Vegas in the morning, I’m really looking forward to some time away, I just hope I can actually stop worrying like Mama’s do all too often! I’m sure he’ll have a blast too with Grandma and Grandpa’s full attention the next couple of days.
