Palmer Sioux was the cutest Birthday Boy. He even shared some of his chocolate cake with Arlin Jack. (Abby I’ll zip all the pictures and email them to you!)

Sunday we went for a bike ride all around town. First to Wash Park, then to Spicy Pickle for lunch where Arlin ate cheese pizza for the first time!
…poor Stella had to eat fast before her little brother pestered her for more!
After lunch we rode to a new park at Harvard Gulch. We watched this park be constructed while we went to the pool over the summer. It’s pretty cool with a rock climbing wall and six different slides for all ages.
I’ll post more pictures- we snapped a bunch this weekend.
This morning was p-u-rr-fect! I’ve been teaching Alrin the difference between “doggy” and “kitty” lately using his Tigger stuffed animal who is orange and Stella’s black lab puppy stuffed animal for the doggy. Arlin has learned to identify Kitty out of a pile of toys…and I taught him to always give her kisses- in his version they’re more like love bites. But hey none the less we’re making progress.
Anyways, I was letting Arlin tour the dining room as I put away laundry in his room. I saw kitty and encouraged Arlin to come say hi….
For the first time he saw the real life kitty! He was waving to her and smacking the window trying to get her attention. He almost scared her off- but luckily she hung out for a bit. We’ve stopped to admire plenty of kitties on our walks and Arlin could seem to care less about them. Maybe cause this kitty was orange? Like his Tigger? Hmmm.
Btw, I swear there was only ONE orange kitty when I snapped the picture.
Today I took the Captain for a run around Wash Park in his new tow behind bike/jogger trailer.
I packed his lunch and after my run once around the park, we found a shady place and camped out under the trees for a bit on Pamaws’ custom blanket, with the birds/geese/ducks whatever they were… Arlin loved hootin’ and hollern’ at em’!
He was also pretty excited to check out his trailer, he inspected all the zippers, tires, and straps he could reach and squeeled like a pig the entire time. You’d think he was doing something he wasn’t suppose to and getting away with it.
We had fun at the park- I plan on going as much as I can before the Colorado weather takes over and we’re tied to inside festivities.
Few shots snapped of the grass monster…outside Chipotle on Saturday before we headed to the Children’s Museum. I couldn’t keep it out of his mouth. I figured a little grass will never hurt?! It’s gotta come out one way or another right?
I know…I won’t be winning the mother of the year award any time soon…that’s o.k. at least my kids not crawling around with knee pads and a helmet on?! Ha…seriously- I was flipping through a Safety first brochure and these things were marked top sellers- scary what’s next a safety leash- actually they have those too!
Chad and I took the Captain to the Denver Children’s Museum on Saturday… what a cool place it is! A fantasy world all of it’s own…There are three different stories of fun in the building and every month or so they change exhibits for the kiddies to come check out. In early October we’re gonna see if Abby and Palmer wanna check out the petting zoo with horses, chicken, hens, pigs and more with us!
We ended up buying a year membership for the family, so Chad, Arlin, Stella and I can go as often as we like. Earlier Saturday morning we went to scope out a Gymboree Play and Music program- It was icky in my opinion- the walls were baron, Chad got bit in the neck by something the first five minutes we were there, and I thought to myself…really I have to come hang out here for 45 minutes, NO thanks. I remember them being much cooler in California?!
At the Children’s Museum at the end of October they have a Halloween costume festival. I can’t wait to get Arlin dressed up and go.
F.Y.I… Arlin has about the coolest-cutest Halloween costume ever made!
Captain Jack is going to be a D-I-N-O-saur! RRAR!
Chad and I have been dying to put Arlin in his costume- but we promised we’d wait for Pamaw to get here.
Second picture from the top Arlin is standing all by himself. He is only holding on to a string from the Whole Foods shopping bag on the coffee table. He’s become quite the scooter where furniture permits…from one thing to the next. I researched a Gymboree Music and Play location about 4 miles from the house. I printed a free class coupon off the internet. I think I ‘m gonna give it a whirl next week and see if the Captain has any interest….Cause man I think we need an outlet to get rid of some of Captain’s energy!
