this video is a couple weeks old…just getting around to uploading a few videos. We had fun in the sun today and took Otis to a nearby football field for some ball chasing. We’re anxiously awaiting Sissy’s arrival tomorrow!

Papa’s stash…a box full of old computer and cell phone parts…

dsc01916

you’d think he got into a jar of cookies!

dsc01917

batteries, cords, buttons…things that he thinks he’s not suppose to play with! this is awesome.

dsc01918

right here…we were entertained while raining outside for over an hour and half!

dsc01919

Oh Mama should have thought of this a LONG time ago.

dsc01920

you should hear his “Evil genius” laugh Papa is teaching him. It’s almost as funny as the double foot puddle jump that Papa taught him. So, I go to pick him up from the school play yard the other day and he’s doing both these tricks at the same time…drenching poor Sofia his little classmate who’s about a 1/3 of the size of Arlin Jack!

Bad Papa. But he got his Clone he wanted. ;)

after the nurses flushed his forehead out with saline solution…

Ugh. Two weeks shy of 16 months and my boy has already gotten his first stitches!

I dropped Arlin off to school yesterday morning a few minutes later than usual. I said my goodbyes and headed to the gym for some treadmill running/training. I wasn’t even 5 miles away when I got the phone call from Bergamo Academy that Arlin was injured. Once again he fell and hit his head on something (this is twice in one week?!). This time they advised me to come pick Arlin up, as they thought he may medical assistance.

I don’t think I’ve ever driven that fast anywhere with such intent. (and dialogued excuse planned out in my head-you know for that police officer- I thought so surely (with my luck) would be pulling me over)

I needed to see Arlin. I needed to hold him. I needed to make him feel better.

When I walked into the toddler classroom he was in “normal” Arlin spirits, but I wasn’t fooled by his demeanor, he clearly needed to go to the doctor. One, to make sure he didn’t have a concussion (he had quite the egg on his upper right-side forehead) and Two, to see if he needed some stitches, after all his forehead was open.

Indeed Arlin Jack needed stitches. I begged for the resident doctor to use glue stitches if she thought we could get away with them, she was about to give him two old fashion stitches and I thought for sure Arlin would scar, and well…  I just knew I’d faint right there in the doctor’s office if that’s the route we were about to go down.- It’s true, I’m such a sissy wimp when it comes to injuries, I will never be a nurse or a doctor in another life! (if there is one)

I need to breathe. Right? It’s called being a Mom to a…BOY…Right?!

Or did we jump the gun on sending our little guy to Montessori school?

Trick or Treat smell my feet!

Stella at the haunted house few houses down…these potion bottles were glowing in the dark!
Trying to see out of his costume?!
The Gang!
Arlin trying to pull off Stella’s helmet- pesty little brother- always!
The tricker treater trio!
Cutest Monkey in town…Palmer Sioux!
Bad to the bone Punk-ette!! Number #86
hanging at the house before we left letting the madness begin!
Arlin’s dinosaur shoes were a finishing touch to the adorable costume. I couldn’t believe he was able to cruise around in them!

Stella got here Thursday evening Chad picked her up at the airport on his way home from Seattle (her Mom was actually flying out the same night to New Mexico)

Stella’s wish was to be a dead Denver Roller Doll derby girl. I told her we’d get to Target early Friday and see what we could do- but my one request…was she not be a “dead” roller derby girl!!!

We luckily found an army girl costume that I thought I could modify in the short amount of time I had, so we bought it. It came with the dress and and pair of army knee high vinyl boots you wear over your real shoes…I cut the knee high boot part off and we painted wheels on the sides, cut holes for some bright neon skate laces…they were her “sudo” roller skates! I painted her own Punk-ette # 86 name patch for the back of her dress, pinned on my Green Barrette patch from Master Sarge on the chest along with my derby love patch and let her pick which of my derby knee high socks she wanted to wear. The finishing touches were adding some stickers to her helmet that we bought, and I painted her number on it too, I even let her wear my dog tags that my team gave me at the Season Championship bout…she LOVED this outfit and wanted to wear it all day to the Denver Museum on Saturday!

Right before we left the house to go trick or treating…Stella accidentally rubbed her right eye…smearing all the make up I put on her, she started to get upset about it tell till Abby, Anna Maria and I all told her it was actually perfectly awesome- she now was an “official” roller derby girl with a black eye! She got a big kick out of the mishap and we were off for loads of candy!

And indeed she got loads of CANDY!…Stella ate so much candy she got seriously sick Saturday evening. At about 4pm after coming home from the park she started complaining her stomach hurt real bad. At dinner about an hour later she blew chips everywhere in the kitchen! Ugh…it was bad. Real bad. I knew it wasn’t from anything she had eaten- cause I had shared my food with her for the past two days, and I was fine. I found her candy bag pretty depleted in the closet, and quite a few scattered candy wrappers around her room and under the bed…It was a fun trip to Urgent Care at midnight… slap on the hand from Papa for not fessing up to how much candy she sneaked…and a hard learned lesson- You CAN eat too much candy! Oh, how we’ve all been there. Sunday she laid around all day watching movies, I think she paid the piper this Halloween…poor Stel.

Some shots from Abby’s camera… The bruts! They grunt back and forth and each other, pull hair and nibble on each other…pure cuteness.

Pool time…

Friday, July 18th, 2008

Tuesday Abby and I took the boys to the pool. We waited till the little men got their morning naps in so they would have a more pleasant time. Well that’s at least what we were shooting for. Arlin made our pool adventure a short lived trip, he is cutting his two front teeth and seems to be quite miserable the past couple of days. I went to Whole Foods and got some Clove oil to rub on his gum line- he hates the way it tastes, can’t say I blame him, I tried it myself. Motrin and cold wash cloths seem to be the only magic trick to work.

More pictures from the Fourth of July weekend up in Snowmass and Redstone. He is getting so bog so fast. He wants to walk so badly! I think it’s really just a matter of weeks for him to figure it out. Captain Jack is absolutely fearless when it comes to getting where he wants to go.

Movin’ on UP…

Arlin’s new rocker tee from Grandma…cutest boy band mama’s ever seen. This little guy is the official cruiser. He cannot sit still and he’s figured out the play pen is for babies. This guy needs to be movin’ and a shakin’ all the time. Today he mastered the walk from one end of the coffee table to the other end. Then he turned around and grabbed for the sofa, all while standing on his tippy toes! I think we’ll be walking before we know it. Yikes- I’m so not prepared for this kinda action!!!

Snapping a few shots of the kiddies yesterday morning. It was hysterical…Arlin Jack is the typical little brother-in the second pic where Stella is laughing Arlin was passing gas on his big sister’s lap. Stella couldn’t stop giggling…and soon neither could I. We had fun at the park later in the day.
