Kitty!

Saturday, September 20th, 2008

This morning was p-u-rr-fect! I’ve been teaching Alrin the difference between “doggy” and “kitty” lately using his Tigger stuffed animal who is orange and Stella’s black lab puppy stuffed animal for the doggy. Arlin has learned to identify Kitty out of a pile of toys…and I taught him to always give her kisses- in his version they’re more like love bites. But hey none the less we’re making progress.

Anyways, I was letting Arlin tour the dining room as I put away laundry in his room. I saw kitty and encouraged Arlin to come say hi….

For the first time he saw the real life kitty! He was waving to her and smacking the window trying to get her attention. He almost scared her off- but luckily she hung out for a bit. We’ve stopped to admire plenty of kitties on our walks and Arlin could seem to care less about them. Maybe cause this kitty was orange? Like his Tigger? Hmmm.

Btw, I swear there was only ONE orange kitty when I snapped the picture.

Stand Tall…

Second picture from the top Arlin is standing all by himself. He is only holding on to a string from the Whole Foods shopping bag on the coffee table. He’s become quite the scooter where furniture permits…from one thing to the next. I researched a Gymboree Music and Play location about 4 miles from the house. I printed a free class coupon off the internet. I think I ‘m gonna give it a whirl next week and see if the Captain has any interest….Cause man I think we need an outlet to get rid of some of Captain’s energy!

Cashmere Kicks…

The cruiser. The crawler. Everywhere and into everything. If it’s not bolted down or nailed to the wall little man has captured it. Full flight of stairs with no hesitation…could care less where Mom is!

I let him climb as far as he wanted to go…following right behind with the camera, to the landing he went. (Geez looks like we need to invest in a few more baby gates.)

This past weekend Chad and I went shopping for shoes for the Captain. We found the ones his wearing int he pictures in a Cherry Creek boutique…
Yep, leave it to Chad to find something couture! These kicks are made by Gwen Stefani (the rock-star) her label is called LAMB…I’m not joking these shoes are hysterical, they say…

“Rollin’ in Cashmere”

in cursive writing down the side of em’….

Ahahha. I want a pair! They feel like slippers. They’re supposedly designed so that you don’t have to put socks on first…cause they’re really soft inside with no exposed Velcro or itchy stitching. Oh, gotta love Papa- only the best for his mini-me!

Sshhhh…the prince is sleeping.

Oh, how I wish I could hold on to the feeling I have when I come home from derby practice and peek in to say my good nights and give the Captain a kiss.

Last night he was sleeping so peacefully. I couldn’t help help but giggle to see that he pulled off the end bumper and made it his body pillow. He is one clever little dude.

Arlin officially says three words…that you can identify easily. Ready…Mama, Dada, and dog! Seriously all three words, clear as mud.

Got Chicklets?

I haven’t laughed this hard in a long time…trying to get a picture of the Captains two front teeth is next to impossible. Showing off the bottom two is an everyday occurrence with his squisshy face smile, but man those top two are a serious game of peek-a-boo. As you can see it wasn’t easy to snap these shots…I was laughing…and the Captain was laughing, but I don’t think he knew why we were laughing…had to be there, I suppose.

Every baby…

I think every baby needs a plate set that you keep for many years and give to them when they are adults and possibly have children themselves. My mom gave me mine during a visit to her house in AZ while I was pregnant with Arlin Jack.

Chad and I about died when we found this pirate set of kiddie dishes and silverware. My how times have changed from Snoopy and Cabbage Patch Kids.

The plate has a suction cup thingy on the bottom for a non-slip feature to the high chair or table-
So, Captain Jack may throw food at Mommy but not the plate! haha.

I can’t wait to break these bad boys out and use em’!!!

Rain Forest FUN…

One of my derby friends has loaned us this rain forest activity jumper to use until Arlin Jack out grows it. And as you can see Arlin is in love all over again. He hasn’t stopped smiling. It’s all new fun…the seat can spin all around and is supported by three bouncy cables enabling him to go to town jumping up and down! There are two tropical leaves with a bird and frog hanging above him to swat at and there are toys that spin, light up and play music on his tray around him! I feel lucky to have the chance in borrowing this toy, cause they are a bit pricey in the stores, and you can only use them for a short while.

The end…

Easter afternoon I came into Arlin’s room to finish dressing him so we could go get some lunch. This is exactly how I found him…So cute. This doggy book from Abby has been fascinating him the past couple days… he flips the pages back and forth and eats the doggy tail on the back cover. Arlin can officially roll over both ways, I’ve even come into to find him facing the opposite way I laid him down. He definitely cannot be left unattended anymore on the sofa…cause he might just roll off!

Can we get some cheeks over here?! I think Arlin Jack needs another serving of cheeks! haha. I can’t even blame it on the car seat…

“Well it’s the car seat that smashes his cheeks…makin’ them look chubby!”

Nope this little guy has cheeks for days. I love em’!!!

My lil’ legend..

Just snapped a few shots…just got done reading the story “Frog and the Princess.” I thought of Palmer Sioux and Abby when I bought this cute t-shirt for Arlin at the outlet malls, had they had another one Palmer would have been in business with a new tee, cause he’s officially the boxer out these two little guys! 🙂
We’ve had construction guys at the house last few days so Captain Jack and I have been trying to stay out of the way…All toys have been relocated to the upstairs studio area. I am not looking forward to the length of this project, but I suppose slate floors will be well worth the wait!
