Arlin is almost ONE!

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

So Chad and I happen to stumble upon these gems at a local toy store. I think mama’s just been inspired. I might not be able to pull off the masterpiece guide-craft retro rocker boat…but hey I am on a mission to paint some chairs, table and a treasure chest toy box. In fact I think captain Jack is going to get a Pirate themed play area for his Birthday….stay tuned folks…

Pirate Ducky!

On our way home from camping, the in-laws, Chad and I stopped in a town called Idaho Springs. I’ve always wanted to stop and see what this little mountain town was about every time we drove by it on our way to Vail and Copper Mountain.

We had dinner at a Sicilian restaurant that Chad’s parents recommended- the food was fabulous! After dinner we went on a hunt for chocolate- Chad lost a bet and owed his mom some good chocolate. On our hunt we went in a gift shop and found the “Pirate Ducky”!!! It was so darn cute I had to buy it. It’s Arlin’s new favorite bath toy. And you can see by the third picture from the top…he’s got the pirate’s favorite letter all figured out………….

Rrrrrrrrr….Rrrrrrrrrrr……………Matey!

Captain Jack’s first camping trip…

Captain Jack liked camping that’s for sure. Although, I think he wishes he was walking just as much as we did. He’s in that awkward time where he really wants to, but he can’t quite figure it out…and I think he’s frustrated with that. However, his mastered walking in his playpen. He’ll stand alone momentarily before he realizes he’s not holding on to anything and boom. He falls to his bum. I also think we might be cutting more teeth too! Gobs of slobber again- and he chews on whatever he can get in his mouth, books, car keys, blankets, spoons, anything!

Arlin was memorized by the campfire. Grandpa was trying to teach him “hot”… His eyes were glued to the fire watching the flames and ambers, definitely one of the highlights of camping for the Captain. Chad got a bunch more pictures on his i-phone…I’ll see if I can get em’ uploaded soon.
