Chad snapped a shot of us as he shoveled the drive way for us… (such a nice Papa)

Pulling out of our neighborhood, I was proud of myself for driving safely on the unplowed streets.

sitting at many stop lights along the way I was snapping pictures of the snowy trees…I love em’.

We started out alright, but who knew it would take over 45 minutes to drive 3.3 miles?

Day at the Denver Museum…

Friday, November 7th, 2008

These pictures are the day after Halloween. We took Arlin and Stella to the Denver Art Museum to check out the current art exhibits. We were only able to muster our way through for about an hour and half…with Arlin Jack teething (cutting his back molars) and a forgotten pacifier…we weren’t able to stay as long as we all would have liked.

It was funny to see Stella look at the dates that the paintings were created…

“Mama, LOOK! 1934!!!”

I went on a hunt to find something even older, so she could correlate the year our house was built (1880) with a piece of art in the Denver Museum. Although I couldn’t find something that old I got closer than 1934. Stella reminded me of myself in my younger years, really museums can be quite boring when your parents drag you around and look at old art… sometimes none of it makes sense- but you do incidentally take “something” away from the experience. I used to look at the dates the paintings were created too when I was eight and I’d daydream while walking around about what life must have been back then, did they have television, cars, telephones etc…Oh, to be eight years old again!

Rocks are cool!

Sunday…

Monday, October 27th, 2008

Yesterday we took little man to the Denver Botanical Gardens at Chatfield to hopefully see the Pumpkin Patch. You snooze you lose I guess, cause these were the only handful of pumpkins we saw. The corn maze was pretty cool though, at least Chad and I thought so, I had never seen one, Arlin was more into the pony’s and picking rocks off the ground…but heh that’s what one year olds do right?! (Check out Arlin’s new tee…Uncle Joel and Kirk spoiled him Saturday big time at the Lucky Brand store…..I mean BIG time!)

Baby in a basket…

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

No…we didn’t go very far with the baby in the basket!

It was just too tempting not to see if the Captain could fit in the basket on the front of my bike. He thought it was pretty cool for a minute- but honestly I think he thought the water bottle was cooler…

Say CHEESE!

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

Here is Arlin grubbin’ on Stella’s cheese pizza! A piggy…in hog heaven! Boy he loved that cheese pizza! (his watching his sister in all these pictures- he’s all about Stella when she’s around.)

Weekend tour…

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

Sunday we went for a bike ride all around town. First to Wash Park, then to Spicy Pickle for lunch where Arlin ate cheese pizza for the first time!

…poor Stella had to eat fast before her little brother pestered her for more!

After lunch we rode to a new park at Harvard Gulch. We watched this park be constructed while we went to the pool over the summer. It’s pretty cool with a rock climbing wall and six different slides for all ages.

I’ll post more pictures- we snapped a bunch this weekend.

Grass is good…

Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

Few shots snapped of the grass monster…outside Chipotle on Saturday before we headed to the Children’s Museum. I couldn’t keep it out of his mouth. I figured a little grass will never hurt?! It’s gotta come out one way or another right?
I know…I won’t be winning the mother of the year award any time soon…that’s o.k. at least my kids not crawling around with knee pads and a helmet on?! Ha…seriously- I was flipping through a Safety first brochure and these things were marked top sellers- scary what’s next a safety leash- actually they have those too!

Saturday fun…

Monday, September 15th, 2008
A crawling wonderland above…steps and ramps to climb and all padded for comfy spills and noggin’ taps!
Picture above is in the “baby zone” area- we waited for all the babies to vacate-’cause our little flower is a bit big to play with the infant tots.
Yes, folks he’s standing all on his own…with his fishing pole. Object of this exhibit; catch the fishies in the water with the magnetic fishing pole. Gotta love it…(amen the museum thought to put padding on the magnet at the end of the fishing pole string- as he whacked mommy in the face a few times flinging his pole around!)
Captain Jack- fits right in! A hoy’ Matey! On me ship…”The Minnow!”
Arlin and Papa playing with the fruit that velcro together.

Chad and I took the Captain to the Denver Children’s Museum on Saturday… what a cool place it is! A fantasy world all of it’s own…There are three different stories of fun in the building and every month or so they change exhibits for the kiddies to come check out. In early October we’re gonna see if Abby and Palmer wanna check out the petting zoo with horses, chicken, hens, pigs and more with us!

We ended up buying a year membership for the family, so Chad, Arlin, Stella and I can go as often as we like. Earlier Saturday morning we went to scope out a Gymboree Play and Music program- It was icky in my opinion- the walls were baron, Chad got bit in the neck by something the first five minutes we were there, and I thought to myself…really I have to come hang out here for 45 minutes, NO thanks. I remember them being much cooler in California?!

At the Children’s Museum at the end of October they have a Halloween costume festival. I can’t wait to get Arlin dressed up and go.

F.Y.I… Arlin has about the coolest-cutest Halloween costume ever made!

Captain Jack is going to be a D-I-N-O-saur! RRAR!

Chad and I have been dying to put Arlin in his costume- but we promised we’d wait for Pamaw to get here.

Big Boy!

Saturday, August 16th, 2008

Look at the Big Boy! He’s totally figured out the wave to say HI! and he does it all day long to anyone and everyone trying to get their attention…it works, he pretty much has everyone’s attention where ever we go. He’s quite the champ when it comes to getting out of his car seat. The minute I unlatch the safety buckle he rolls over and stands up…I just happened to have the camera in the car…speaking of car the new ride is pretty sweet! We’re looking at getting the windows tinted darker and some new rims.
