Spring is coming…

february-23-09-018

I could feel it in the air today…

february-23-09-019

these little flower buds are poppin’ up along our front walkway… seems like it happened overnight!

nothing better than a little vitamin D for the Captain, Mama and Otis.

I broke out some cleaning supplies to knock the dust off Stella’s old slide.

he loves the slide. no fear climbing the staircase part…then he looks like a dear in headlights at the top…needs to make sure Mama is close by for his descent.

I actually broke a sweat today raking all the winter leaves in the backyard in between playing with the Captain. He is feeling much better! He was actually doing laps around the dining room table chasing Otis this morning- it was a sure tail sign he was good to go and return back to school. He got really excited when we pulled up in the car to his school this morning- and was even more excited to see all his buddies once inside.

Mama can relax now- The Captain is back to his usual spirit!

NO Soy Joy here…

february-23-09-0051

This picture pretty much sums up the day here at the Larsen household!

Thank gosh it was a splash of chocolate soy milk and not real coffee… Arlin was feeling icky this morning and I was trying to give him a treat. He never drinks soy (chocolate soy milk) unless it’s a special occasion in his “big boy cup”…

Well, this weekend with Stella here, all three of us were feeling under the weather and making several trips to the fridge for h20…the Captain finally figured it out…how to push the fridge door button for some agua…yep!

So, this morning he took his “big boy cup” to the fridge to push the button forgetting it was full of that special stuff!

ahahahahha…it was a good laugh for Papa and I.

Soon to be underpants

plum tuckered…on the way home from school.

february-19-09-005

This is the norm…Mama opens the fridge door and Arlin grabs something….ranch bottle, bbq sauce…today it was the mayo.

february-19-09-006

“Arlin, what are you doing?”

february-19-09-009

Grocery shoppin’!

february-19-09-010

Once we figured out that the Captain’s horsey makes noises if you press the back of it’s ears…Arlin now LOVES it more than ever. I think he may have hit a growth spirit too…’cause he has no problem getting on and off his horsey without any help and he is totally checked out on rockin’ back and forth. I’ll try and post a video I got soon!

At breakfast this morning Papa expressed he “needed” a chair so the three of us could sit at the Captain’s little table and all eat breakfast. It’s o.k. you can laugh…it’s a funny image right? The three of us pinned up next to this little table!??

Anyways…Papa hasn’t seen his new chair yet…he is in Atlanta on business, home tomorrow night. I think Arlin Jack is gonna give Papa a run for his money…he loves this thing, it’s his new throne!

tuesday…

Tuesday, February 10th, 2009

No nap today. It was hard to get things finished around the house. I was hoping to nap myself- went to the dentist this morning and had a not so fun time. The Captain was quite the fuss budget for the first couple hours he was home from school. I think he had a tummy ache. He refused lunch…and then had a blow out diaper shortly after?! After that he was all smiles helpin’ Mama mop the floors. (except Mama didn’t mop ๐Ÿ™‚ ) We took Otis to the groomer too. Arlin always gets a kick out of seeing the big dogs they have at the shop.

For Papa…

Monday, February 9th, 2009

Just an F.Y.I. I’m posting tonight against my will. I cannot tell you how my heart aches when I look at these pictures of my poor little guys face. But Papa is out of town and a little home sick…he asked me please please post some pics of my little dude so I can see him! (they chatted earlier on the phone- it was pretty cute.)

I guess Big Boys brush their hair too…ha.

Papa…we love you and miss you. Have fun working in Chicago and call us in the mornin’!

On Arlin’s level…

february0309-002

I built Arlin’s little table and chair set up this afternoon after he got home from school. Of course the Captain had to help Mama…and stomp all over the box and bubble wrap!

february0309-015

february0309-001

so…it’s gonna take some time for the newness to wear off on this real plant thing- he is pretty fascinated by it’s presence…he spent the majority of snack time this afternoon trying to feed the flower his cracker!

february0309-003

our first snack time at the table…after school today.

february0309-005

me snapping shots from across the wee little table…hopefully these chairs don’t bust with us big kids sitting on em’!

february0309-012

the set up…Chad and I are trying to bring a little bit ofย  Montessori “like” furniture into the home, by recommendation of the Academy. We have a new training potty in the downstairs bathroom that Arlin sits on everytime Chad or I go potty ๐Ÿ™‚ This last weekend we picked up this eating table, two chairs…and his all time favorite- an Arlin size cleaning utensil set (still on the hunt for a wood set like they have at the school) but these will do for now- they were half off…Ha. Maybe I do clean too much. I swear the Captain has been following me everywhere around the kitchen the past couple of days with his new broom in tow. It’s really too cute. Tonight we ate dinner at his table (well Arlin and I did) we used a plate, a spoon and a cup…I was beyond impressed with my little guys manners and we didn’t throw any food like I envisioned! Hoo ray!

Back to school…

he can eat all the crackers he wants with those baby blues.

So, I’m thinking I’ve kinda been obsessing with taking head shots of Arlin’s glue stitches…his first war wound. Is that weird? Oh, my poor guy…

I love this red sweater he’s wearing in these pictures (again from ๐Ÿ™‚ Aunt Patty) Boy, I tell ya- this little guy is stylin’ with one healthy sized wardrobe. Between Pamaw (grandma), great Aunt Patty and his surrogate fathers Uncle Joel and Kirk… it’s a rare occasion as parents we have to buy him clothes!

Arlin has become fascinated with shoes…I’m thinking it’s because of the routine we go through every morning- getting ready for school here at the house, we switch from his bear slippers to his Vans, then when we get to school we have to sit down and put on his indoor shoes (the pee pee crocs-as I call em’) that’s like Mr. Rogers, except it’s shoes and not sweaters. Or maybe he’s just following in the footsteps of his father…who we all know has a serious shoe addiction. (Well, Mama knows this!)

Cabin fever…

leave it to him to find his pacifiers (we’re trying not to use them anymore)
jan-2609-001
At least the Captain’s fever has subsided. However, today staying home from school I think the Captain’s fever turned into a little “Cabin Fever” boy oh boy…was he a mischievous little dude today! If I turned my back for one minute he was into some sort of trouble.
