buddy Ben…

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

Meet Captain’s new buddy…Ben, he’ll be 3yr. in November, he’s a happy little guy.

Ben lives two doors down from our house…Arlin thinks he’s pretty fun to play with.

IMG_2476

..this is the two of them in the alley riding Arlin’s gear….I think Ben thought he hit the jackpot when he saw all of Arlin’s wheels in the garage. It’s good practice for Arlin’s “sharing” :)

Meet Arlin’s new hair cut…this is what happens when Mama looks away for more toys to entertain-because he won’t stand still….yep within two seconds El Capy-tain had the guard off Papa’s buzzer and whacked a big chunk of his bangs off…I sniveled with a few tears as I buzzed the rest of his hair off to match his handy work. I guess I should find humor he actually did it on Summer Solstice, maybe it’s his way of celebrating summertime is here. Now he really looks like Papa’s mini me!

I tell ya’ we 100% boy here. We have two healing boo boo’s on both of his elbows from massive wipe outs. “He who runs with sticks” that’s his new Indian name incase you were wondering. Everything he can find is turned into some type of jousting sword…the vacuum cleaner extension pieces, the bubble maker wand…you name it.

He’s been a trouble maker today…and Mama is feeling tired because of it.

Sunday we went over to Nico’s new place to see the twins, and catch up…

IMG_3218

trying to keep the Captain from mischief  was nearly impossible at Uncle Nico’s new place, where the twins only being almost 7 months are not yet mobile…but soon they will be! Enzo is already doing the army crawl!

Enzo and Papa, Nico.

Cassius, or Cash Money as his Papa calls him.

Big boy Enzo. He was the smaller of the two at birth…not anymore!

Aren’t these guys handsome!?

And…Mr. Trouble. Arlin Jack took quite well to antagonizing Knuckles, the dog.

Wishing I had a picture of Salvador and Palmer Sioux to complete the circle of what will be “major mischief” in years to come.

children’s museum…

Tuesday, August 18th, 2009

Been busy and sidetracked from uploading these. We met Abby and Palmer at the Denver Childrens Museum last Friday, Arlin Jack was off school that day. Unfortunately I didn’t know the museum closed early on Friday’s…we only got to show Palmer bits and pieces of the museum coolness. I’m on a mission now to find my guest passes and take them again. The boys loved playing with the trains, oh and shooting the mini basketballs on the mini sized basketball court….that place is really cool and for Arlin it seems like he sees something new every time we go.

Too bad, I took a video of my monkey climbing this twisty thing but I shot it with my little camera and didn’t think I was holding long ways to capture the height of the shot, so I’ll spare you having to watch a video with your head turned sideways! He fell…of course I captured that too…and then you hear me panic and I toss the camera into the sand to save the Captain!

Sioux Play…

Friday, June 5th, 2009

Forgot to post these gems…we got to hang with Palmer Sioux and Abby on Tuesday after nap time.

the wheel barrel was FULL of water from rain the day before. Arlin Jack wasn’t to happy after drenching himself. Palmer just looked at him like….”dude?!”

Palmer Sioux was over for the afternoon. It was so nice to have a yard for the two of them to kick around a soccer ball. I got some better pictures of the two of them, I’ll try uploading them tomorrow…Chad and Stella are frantically waiting for Mama so we can START the movie!

feb09-033

snack time! it started at the table. then they moseyed around the kitchen with their raisin boxes…ya’ I think Otis will be eatin’ raisins for the next week or so, I keep finding ‘em everywhere!

feb09-025

Abby- the “peace” onesie mojo worked again. :)

feb09-034

intense…hyper focused on those purple boxes.

feb09-0281

’round the block…’round the block…these alley cats loved the wagon!

feb09-032

I swear this mini set of cleaning utensils was the best purchase ever! hours of pure entertainment.

It was a real treat to have Palmer over for a couple hours while Mama (Abby) got smart at school. I swear these little bruts feed off each other. Mostly in a good way, they do occasionally rough each other up- like push the snack time table into each other’s bellies. I’m thinking Arlin maybe the alpha male in his classroom environment and Palmer actually gives him a run for his money which I think is great, we need balance. I am always amazed with Arlin’s vocal expression after Palmer leaves, I think he picks up on new things Palmer is able to communicate. I heart playdates with Palmer Sioux!

Get better Pamaw!

Thanks to Abby for snapping these shots of the little guys last time she watched Arlin, I think the week before I went to Vegas for RollerCon so I could get my hair done- geez it’s been awhile since I’ve taken some pictures of the Captain.
I think Grandma’s going crazy- She has no blogs to peek at over her morning cup of joe! uh oh…I’ll try to catch up and snap some pictures this week…promise!
Keep that foot up and rest grandma! We want you in tip top shape for your visit in October- cause the Captain might be walking for his first Birthday!

Mama’s 1st Mother’s Day!

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

We went to Abby and Kiko’s for Mother’s Day and barbecued in their back yard. It was hysterical to watch Palmer and Arlin baby cage fight in the pack-n-play. They are total buds now and they can actually entertain each other for quite a while. Arlin has been Mr. Fussy pants lately…he is totally teething. I’m just waiting for the pearly white smile one morning!
