silly exercise 4.3
Arlin Jack is the perfect partner for the online art class I’m taking by Carla Sonheim…the workshop is titled…”the Art of Silliness” and well what better partner could there be to be silly with?!

These eyeballs were a cut out, and an exercise to be creative with placement and photo taking/sharing.

Arlin’s been all about having his “own” everything…including a camera, so I found an old underwater camera from our vacation to Florida way back when…this is Arlin with eyeballs taped to the front, telling me to “smile!”

today we went on a photo-op scavenger hunt around the neighborhood today, because it was sunny and in the mid 50′s…absolutely beautiful! I love how the forecast reads rain everyday…it might rain for 5 or 10 minutes a day and then it’s sunny!

we found all kinds of creature inspiring photos to snap…

Arlin was pretty intrigued by these guys…but Mama, the stickler, wouldn’t let him touch…

“we…explore Mama!” is what he kept saying.

and we were having lots of fun…

till his trike wheel fell off, bolts and all…about three blocks from home. Arlin wanted me to carry his trike and him…no way jose, you’re a big boy, you walk. He’s been wanting me to carry him everywhere, and although it saves time when trying to get from point A to point B…I’m trying to save my poor back, and lately my knee…cause this chunker is a hefty load!

where’s the mute button?

I kept saying to Arlin today…”Jamaican- me CRAZY!”

His shirt fit the phrase… this kid has some ferocious energy lately!

Technically speaking, this is from both pops!

We were surprised by a box in the mail, from my Dad today, and in it were two cool presents for Arlin; Monster Trucks and Hotwheels.  My husband decided to mess around with the video on his iPhone 3GS (while Captain Jack played with his toys) to see just how easy it was to publish the vids from a different Mac (other than his) and use youtube as the delivery… Seems like maybe we’ll get Papa to give us some more video if its as easy as he claims!

P.S. Mimi; Chad says he’s got about 20 hours of video he’ll be posting for you (but we’ll believe that when we see it)!

miniature Elmer Fudd. Arlin found a box of little army men I used some time ago for a diarhama, a prank gift for the opposing derby team we were bouting, anyways, he’s been carrying around one of the soldiers ever since…he gets pretty animated when you ask him who it is…

“Ma-Sss-er….SARGE!”

The snow has not stopped falling. It just keeps coming! Arlin Jack’s school was closed for the day and Mama’s hair appointment was cancelled too, boo hoo. But we entertained ourselves inside with Arlin Jack’s play-doh tool kit. We also watched the movie The Tale of Despereaux a movie about a brave little mouse. We played with his wooden puzzle piece boards and we watched the neighbors blow snow off their sidewalks…then Arlin got a good laugh watching Mama through the living room window shoveling the 18″ off our front walk way for the pizza man! That’s right Arlin and Mama ate pizza for dinner! YUMMY!

Arlin Jacker’s woke up from his nap today with a slight fever. He just wanted to be held and books…I think I read every book in his room while we rocked together in his baby rocker. I finally broke down and gave him some Tylenol then after a snack he seemed to liven up a little…

Oh, it’s amazing the things you thought you’d never be seen doing. Then you become a loving parent. And when my little guy is sick, he owns me.
