My gentle giants. Awww, doesn’t get any cuter than this.

dsc02031

All of us went to the Concours d’Elgance… a car show. This is Captain Jack wearing his skis…Uncle Joel’s shoes 🙂

dsc02032

I spoiled Arlin Jack with some of my frozen vanilla custard… while teething he loved it!

dsc020331

walking in his skis was virtually impossible but he still tried.

Wishing Uncle Joel a safe drive to Texas! Say hello to Kirk for us….and we will see you guys soon……..”yeah! Babies!” :-))

school days…

dsc01940

“What moves you?”…….this handsome kiddo!

dsc01925

the look, when Papa goes up to his office in the morning…still handsome though.

dsc01921

outfits only look this good in the morning before school. Gotta snap em’ when you can.

dsc01923

Summer school is going well. No more biting, they ended up removing the child that was biting to another toddler environment. I feel bad for the parents, but can now relax a little knowing I won’t be getting as many incident reports from the Academy. Arlin Jack is…”Captain Chatterbox”…his vocabulary is incredible! His like a parrot…repeating even the not so nice words Mama and Papa some times say!

Sioux Play…

June 5th, 2009

Forgot to post these gems…we got to hang with Palmer Sioux and Abby on Tuesday after nap time.

dsc01929

the wheel barrel was FULL of water from rain the day before. Arlin Jack wasn’t to happy after drenching himself. Palmer just looked at him like….”dude?!”

dsc01933

they’re not babies anymore. They laugh together now!

Chad part 2

dsc01915

Papa’s stash…a box full of old computer and cell phone parts…

dsc01916

you’d think he got into a jar of cookies!

dsc01917

batteries, cords, buttons…things that he thinks he’s not suppose to play with! this is awesome.

dsc01918

right here…we were entertained while raining outside for over an hour and half!

dsc01919

Oh Mama should have thought of this a LONG time ago.

dsc01920

you should hear his “Evil genius” laugh Papa is teaching him. It’s almost as funny as the double foot puddle jump that Papa taught him. So, I go to pick him up from the school play yard the other day and he’s doing both these tricks at the same time…drenching poor Sofia his little classmate who’s about a 1/3 of the size of Arlin Jack!

Bad Papa. But he got his Clone he wanted. 😉

Blue shoes…

June 1st, 2009

Sunday…I took Arlin Jack to a new park, well, a new park for us over by Denver University. I figured I’d try and wear him out before I drug him to a fabric store with me. It kinda worked, however, getting sand in my boot wasn’t so much fun.

dsc01889

He was a little timid at first. All slides and steps were a little bigger than the parks we normally frequent.

dsc01890

Chad and I got the Captain some new shoes Saturday…he’s bumped up a size again…

dsc01891

cruisin’

dsc01892

watching a soccer game…

dsc01893

Who’s sailing this ship?!

dsc01894

Why, the Captain…of course!

dsc01895

the great debate…do I go or do I stay?

Hat!

May 29th, 2009

dsc01886

Oh my!

Arlin…….that’s not a hat.

dsc01887

the aftermath.

dsc01877

My guy got bit again today at school… *sigh* I’m over this whole biting thing. Really, I am. Arlin’s teacher calls him the “gentle giant” according to her and the classroom assistant he’s always a happy go lucky guy and when he gets hurt (or bit) he’s a wounded soldier…we gotta change that Arlin Jack! Say NO! NO Biting! Arlin actually does say “bite” and sadly enough it’s prolly’ the cutest darn word he says just the way he says it I guess. He points at his cheek and says…Mama….”b-Y-te… Owie” Ugh, breaks my heart when this guy hurts.

Pee-pee party…

May 28th, 2009

dsc01813

rough housing with kitty. my we’ve grown quite attached to her. I noticed today her tail is a little week in one spot…uh oh!

dsc01821

i feel ya’ buddy. We had workers in the backyard all yesterday and today. Arlin Jack and I both wanted to play out in the back with his new water station toy.

dsc01819

Mama’s boy? maybe…

dsc01818

he’s so funny with his apron and “hat” (a new word for Arlin) I’ve made a big enough deal about being a big boy when he puts either of them on.

So, this next blurb I’ll spare both you and the Captain the embarrassing pictures…However, I can paint you a picture… I’ll start by saying I think the Captain is ready for some serious potty training here at the house. He’s mastered taking his pajama bottoms, socks and diaper off and pee-ing all over his bedding and half his stuffed animal friends in his crib.

He thinks this is funny and Mama after completely stripping down all his bedding twice in the last two days does not. Both times mind you it’s very late at night and WAY passed the Captain’s bedtime! I’m having to get creative with what pajamas I put him down  in….it’s too hot for long sleeve footed sleepers….but I can’t just leave him in a diaper either…

Hmmm, the dilemas of phase one potty training!  You teach him how to undress for bath time by himself with a little help…but at times like these, middle of the night strip tease pee-pee parties….do you scold him??

Road trip…

May 25th, 2009

first some pictures from last week…

img_0331

Riding his new quad in the backyard. Super funny to see how many ways this guy can ride his quad. Side saddle is just the beginning. Thank gosh it’s only a battery charged!

img_0335

I call him the energizer bunny man…hoppity hop hop hop. He’s been into the whole “jump” thing, especially if he can get Papa to do it with him.

img_2697

Today we took a road trip up past Fort Collins to scope out possible camping sites for this summer.

img_2665

say CHEESE.

img_2677

What is Mama doin’?

img_2679

And what did Arlin Jack just do???

img_2680

Arlin thought his gold fish wanted to go for a swim! He threw his whole snack container into the river, luckily enough it caught up on some debris about 30 feet past where we were.

img_2683

Mama did finally make it.

dsc01794

Weeee!

dsc01795 always…goofin’ around!

dsc01806

Little Miss Stell…

We had a good time today looking for camping spots. I’m pretty sure we’ll be back sooner than later for some camping fun. Although we didn’t get quite as far as we wanted to check out (Arlin hit the wall after nap time, and Stella was hungry) so we detoured trailing back to a bar restaurant called Mishawaka it was pretty cool (Chad and I might have to go back for the reggae festival or another concert they have an outdoor amphitheater right on the river.

Past weekend…

May 21st, 2009

img_2597

while birthday shopping for Sal, Papa had to  spoil the Captain and buy him a battery charged quad!

img_2594

speaking of Papa…I thought he was watching you!?

img_2619

the hand…it’s always in the mouth these days…cutting two teeth for the past few weeks. I wish they would just budge already!

img_2610

pit stop, gotta get a snack…yum hummus and pita bread.

img_2611

on the road again!

img_2624

big guy in little trunks!

The Captain and the birthday boy Salvador…

img_2627

I thought he was about to do a belly flop…but nothin’.

Had a blast at Salvador’s 1st Birthday party. There were plenty of kids the Captain’s age for him to cause trouble with. We thought he’d crash in his pack n’ play but NO love, we were home by 7pm with one plum tuckered Captain.

daring or just crazy?

img_0319

Yep, that there is a banana in the hands of Captain……….in the CAR!!!

Captain had a rough go at school last week. And I was willing to bend the rules a bit to help.

They have a “biter” in the toddler environment that Arlin Jack is in. And it seems as if the Captain is sweet enough to nibble on. We had the incident reports pile up and by the time Thursday rolled around I had tears while giving him a bath. With marks on his arms, back and cheek he’d say to me “Ma-Ma….B-i-t-e” and put his hand to his mouth then point to where he’d been bitten… And while he is absolutely the cutest thing ever when he says B-i-t-E, and wicked smart to be able to communicate what happened to me, it breaks my heart to think about it.

What do you do? I am trying to understand the situation, I get that it happens at this age and all, that it might be a phase, but my poor guy! Chad and I are meeting with the school tomorrow morning.*sigh*
